It’s not very often you get to dress up as much as you do on your wedding day! It’s such a special experience, but a lot of brides feel unsure about how to walk and pose in a big fancy gown and high heels. You’re going to be cherishing your wedding-day memories for a lifetime, so we want to help make sure you look great in your wedding photos and videos! Here are some tips for posing and walking in your gown to help you look natural and elegant instead of awkward or stiff.
Walking
When walking in your gown, try to move with fluidity. The goal is to have smooth movements instead of stiff ones. Walk heel-to-toe with one foot in front of the other. Practice in your wedding day shoes!

Posing
Create angles. Drop your shoulders. Cross your legs, drop one hip. Put one hand on your hip and the other on your leg (shown in the photos above). Making angles with your body creates interest and feels less awkward. Just like when you’re walking in your gown, try to be relaxed, not stiff.
Use the same tips for posing while sitting. Cross your legs or ankles and put one hand on your leg and the other in your hair, etc.. Just make sure to create those angles (shown in photos below)!

Also, when you hold your bouquet, hold it low and tip it forward to show off the beautiful blooms without blocking the beautiful details on your dress!

Here are some additional tips:
Have someone like your Maid of Honor in charge of fluffing your train. They can make sure the skirt of your gown is falling nicely to show off the beautiful details of your dress.
Have an emergency kit! Include a needle and thread in case a button comes loose and some gentle stain remover in case you get food or makeup on your gown. Additionally, include some lip gloss and deodorant for a mid-day refresh.
And lastly, focus on you and your fiance and the joy of your wedding day! Your photographer will help make sure you look perfect and capture the beauty of your special celebration.
