When is the right time to start searching for and buying your gown? Let's walk through the purchasing time frame for bridal shopping!


Most designers are anywhere between 4-10 months out for ordering, and you'll want to ensure that your give your alterations timeline about 2 months so that you can ensure that your gown arrives and is altered with plenty of time for your big day! 


While starting to look for your gown a year or more in advance might feel too early, you're actually giving yourself the best opportunity to get the gown of your dreams in the correct sizing in time for all you need to get done! The wedding dress is the part of the wedding that takes the longest, so make it easy on yourself and check it off your bridal list first thing, so you can move on to the next stages of planning your wedding! 


Once your gown arrives, it is inspected to ensure quality, then you can get started on alterations! You want a two month buffer for alterations so that you can be sure your gown fits and feels the way it needs to on the big day!
